This Optical Speed Gate Turnstile comes with a slim silver-black hollow angular frame, transparent acrylic swing panels and top-corner cyan indicator lights. With quiet 0.2s brushless servo operation, infrared anti-tailgating, anti-pinch and emergency release, it supports 40 people/min throughput for offices, airports and commercial access control.

A: Not at all. Although the AT408 narrow Speed Gate Turnstile has a cabinet width of only 120mm, it adopts an integrated reinforced steel frame structure internally, with all core transmission components embedded and reinforced. Combined with the heavy-duty integrated base frame, the overall thrust resistance and stability fully meet the same standards as wide-body models. The brushless motor and precision transmission mechanism are rated for ≥5 million maintenance-free operation cycles, using the exact same core movement as the wide-body series — there is no difference in service life. The narrow profile only optimizes the outer shell dimensions, with zero compromise in core performance or durability.

2.Q: What is the waterproof and dustproof rating of the speed gate turnstile with integrated base frame? Can it be installed in semi-outdoor areas or under canopies?

A: The standard indoor model has an IP42 protection rating, suitable for dry environments such as indoor lobbies and office buildings. For installation in semi-outdoor areas, under canopies, or at underground garage entrances with humid and dusty conditions, an upgraded IP54 waterproof version is available. All base joints, motor compartments and circuit board enclosures receive full sealed waterproof treatment, capable of withstanding daily water splashes and dusty environments. However, fully exposed outdoor installation is not recommended, as long-term direct sun and rain will accelerate aging of the coating and seals.

3.Q: How exactly do the anti-pinch and anti-tailgating safety features of the speed gate turnstile work? Is it safe for the elderly and children?

A: The AT408 Speed Gate Turnstile adopts triple safety protection. First, multiple pairs of infrared photoelectric sensors are densely arranged along both sides of the passage, detecting pedestrian positions in real time; when obstacles are detected or a pedestrian has not fully passed, the swing arm immediately stops and rebounds without hard clamping. Second, the swing arm itself has a built-in elastic buffer mechanism, so even accidental contact applies very light force. Third, the anti-tailgating infrared array accurately distinguishes single vs. multiple people — if someone follows too closely, it triggers an audible alarm and blocks the second person from passing. It is completely safe for the elderly, children, and people pushing strollers.

4.Q: Can your speed gate turnstile integrate with our existing access control system? What identification devices and protocols are supported?

A: Full integration with third-party access control systems is supported. The standard configuration supports Wiegand 26/34 protocols, which can be directly connected to most access controllers on the market. For identification devices, it supports nearly all mainstream verification methods including RFID card reading, QR code, fingerprint, face recognition and ID card readers — these can be factory pre-installed or retrofitted on site according to customer requirements. It also supports TCP/IP networking and relay signal output for flexible integration, making deployment very straightforward for system integrators.
